I’ve finally got around to uploading some new songs premiered by Kupka’s Piano at their concert on March 8 ‘A New Sun Rises’ at the Judith Wright Centre in Brisbane.
Called Stars, not far off, they are settings of Wallace Stevens’ poem ‘Six significant landscapes’ written in 1916 – a response to Chinese landscape painting. You can read about what I was thinking as I wrote them here.
I’ve only included three of them. I’m only happy with three of them. The others I need to touch up in small but important ways. Hopefully there will be an opportunity to record them all properly in the near future – these recordings suffice but are hardly flattering…
Oh, and a massive thanks to the performers, to Tabatha McFadyen, and to Peter Clark. Was great working with you all, as always.
